WHAT WE DO

Six specialisms, one focus on sites that can't stand still

Every service below has been shaped by working inside live, occupied public-sector buildings — schools, hospitals and council-run sites — where safeguarding, operational continuity and daily routines come before anything else.

School Improvement & Expansion

Whether it’s a standalone classroom block, an admin extension or a full exam hall expansion, we plan our school improvement projects around term dates, not the other way round. At Brooklands Primary we delivered a new c.150m² admin block and a 260m² standalone classroom block — including two lobbies, group rooms, a therapy room and a kitchen — while the school stayed in constant operation. At Hoe Valley, a full internal remodel and a 30-metre partition wall to expand the exam hall were designed, built and signed off inside a single six-week summer holiday.

SEN Specialist

SEN Specialist

Our SEN refurbishment work goes beyond a standard fit-out. At Epsom & Ewell we converted an existing Wave and Lecture Room area into a new common room, quiet study rooms and a dedicated Philip Southcote SEN teaching zone — complete with breakout rooms, a life skills kitchen and a disabled-access WC — finished four weeks ahead of schedule despite a growing scope. Ripley C of E School and Brooklands Primary have both trusted us with similar SEN specialist refurbishments.

Conversion & Redevelopment

Vincent House in Horsham is a £2.9m conversion of a former medical centre and its annexe into a purpose-built SEN school, including a new car park, multi-use games area and a glazed link between buildings. It’s the kind of change-of-use project that needs a contractor comfortable managing gas, drainage and power upgrades alongside a live construction programme — which is exactly what we do.

Accessibility & Disability Adaptations

Accessibility & Disability Adaptations

At The Hythe School we installed a new passenger lift — sized to fit a wheelchair and support worker within a tight shaft footprint — to give pupils with mobility needs access to the first floor, completed and key-code secured before the new term. We’ve also redesigned access ramps, widened doorways and adapted washrooms across our school projects, always assessed against the specific needs of the pupils using them.

External Works & Play Areas

From a new outdoor play canopy and rubber crumb playground at Ripley C of E School to the multi-use games area and car park at Vincent House, our external works cover play area canopies, resurfacing, drainage, fencing and landscaping — all built to withstand the daily wear of a working school site.

Community & Public Sector

Community & Public Sector

Surrey County Council has instructed us on five school projects to date, and we work just as closely with academy trusts, contract administrators and principal designers, including Hamson Barron Smith, Pellings LLP and Archway Building Consultancy. We're also on site for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, refurbishing staff accommodation at Eastbourne District General Hospital — our first NHS instruction, and a sign of where we're taking the business. We understand public sector procurement, reporting and the accreditations that go with it — and we bring that same rigour to every project we take on, whatever the sector.
