Hoe Valley School — School Improvement & Expansion
Hoe Valley School needed internal and external work carried out during the summer holidays of 2023, adapting existing rooms — including the Reprographics room, Textile and Engineering rooms — to improve provision for students, plus an exam room expansion to accommodate a growing cohort.
Internal remodelling
- Partitioning and alterations to existing structures
- Replacement of vinyl and carpet flooring, new ceilings and redecoration
- Adapted lighting, power, data and water services
Exam room expansion
- Installation of a 30-metre wall partition to separate off part of the Main Hall and create dedicated exam space, while keeping corridor access either side
- Removal of existing wall and door structures and adaptation of the existing ceiling
- Specialist engineering team fitted the floor and ceiling track for partition panels weighing over 60kg each
All work needed to complete in time for the start of the September 2023 term. We pulled in additional resources and labour to keep the six-week programme on track, maintaining a flexible approach to changes in specification through a thorough risk management and mitigation plan.
Successfully installing a new engineering room, textiles room and dark room has expanded the school’s A-level programme options, offering students greater choice and more flexible pathways for their future education.
