Built on the same values, under a new name
CBL Construction is the new name for Colours Building Ltd — the same team, the same values, and the same focus on getting construction right in places that can't afford to get it wrong.
From Colours Building Ltd to CBL Construction
Colours Building Ltd was built on strong values — clear communication and exceeding client expectations. As our work has grown increasingly focused on schools, healthcare and public-sector clients, we've rebranded to CBL Construction, reflecting who we work with today.
That focus shows in our projects: five instructions from Surrey County Council, a completed major SEN conversion for the Aurora Group, and our first NHS project for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Our past community work has been recognised publicly too — a previous refurbishment was visited by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
A Bit More About Us
Four things worth knowing about how we work — click through to whichever matters most to you.
Who We Work With
Our project list is short by design — we'd rather be a repeat contractor for a small number of public-sector clients than a one-off for many. Here's who we're currently working for.
Brooklands School, Epsom & Ewell School, Hoe Valley School, Ripley C of E School, The Hythe School
We also work directly alongside the principal designers and contract administrators appointed on each project, including:
Customer, Commitment
Striving to exceed customer expectations in the finished product and in the service we offer throughout the duration of any project we take on or are involved in.
Open communication
Our relationship with clients begins on first contact and continues with regular updates, meetings and transparent reporting until they're fully satisfied with the finished work.
Built around your site
Term dates, safeguarding requirements and daily operational life come first — whether that's a school, a hospital or a council building — our programmes are planned around your calendar, not the other way round.
Honest about problems
When something unexpected turns up — a WWII bunker, inaccurate drawings, a change of scope — we bring solutions to the table quickly, not surprises at the end.
Value for the client
From switching specifications to save cost without compromising quality, to bringing work in-house where it benefits the client, we look for ways to add value throughout.
Led on Site, Not Just From the Office
Our own project managers run our projects day to day, working hand in hand with headteachers, business managers, hospital estates teams and council contract administrators. Beyond that day-to-day management, our operations team and directors carry out regular site attendances and meetings every week — so oversight of every project comes from people who've actually been on site, not just from the office.
Accredited to Work With Public-Sector Clients
We hold the accreditations that give schools, councils and contract administrators confidence in our health & safety, financial standing and technical competence — and that keep us eligible to tender through Constructionline, Surrey County Council's supply chain portal and individual school and trust frameworks.
